Wordless Wednesday: Hailey and her Boyfriend!

DSC_1147

On the right we have Hailey and on the left we have Jr.

If you ask Hailey who Jr is, she will quickly tell you that's her long term boyfriend.
"We have been dating for a while" she says.

The other night Heather sent me this picture of the kids from a Birthday party.

It just so happened Meagan and her husband has joined us for dinner at our house that night. I should Meagan the picture of the two of the kids and this is what happened next.

Hailey: "That's my boyfriend"
Meagan: "I thought you had a new boyfriend at school"
Me: "She does, that's Tyler. She dates them both, but Jr. has always been her boyfriend"
Hailey: "Yeah Tyler is also my boyfriend, but he's kinda just like an appetizer"
The rest of us: ::Speechless::

Yup, that would be the words of my 5 year old! HA!

So apparently in Hailey's eyes..........

Here we have Tyler.....

and here is Jr the main course!

Weighing In Wednesday: Week 4

It's Wednesday again and I am sure you have heard me mention my weight loss journey!
Wednesday is my weigh in day!
So 8am came and I quickly hurried to the Nurse's Station downstairs at work and weighed myself!

This week's weight loss:
1.6lbs

Total weight loss since Jan. 2, 2013:
3.7lbs

What worked for me this week:
To be honest, this was a hard week. I was sick and then had a hard time getting back in the grove of things. But I think just having a positive attitude and making sure I weighed in today really helped!

What didn't work for me:
Being sick! And the fact I didn't complete my goal of going to the gym once during the week!

A non scale victory for me this past week:
I will admit, I binged on some cookies last night! My intentions was to eat the whole package, but instead of making myself sick eating them, I ate a few and then put the rest away! Mmmmm warm oeey goeey cookies! Hubby ate them when he came home so now they are all gone! No temptation tonight!

My goals for this week:
To focus more on healthy eating, finally hit the gym at least once this week, and to keep tracking every bite! Remember slow and steady wins the race!

10 Things On Tuesday!

I saw this last week on Joni's and Heather's blogs and thought it was a cute idea! Of course when I read about it, it was already Wednesday! Boo! So I was excited to do it this Tuesday! Wahoo!

1. Last week the flu decided to pay me a visit and believe me it was a long unwanted visit! Now I am much better, but dealing with the aftermath that turned into a double ear infection and a upper respiratory infection. Hopefully it will be on it's way out soon! I already feel better then I did when I woke up this morning!

2. Being able to get on a vanpool has made a huge improvement in my work week! Not only am I consistent on what time I get to work, but I also get home a lot earlier! I didn't realize HOV lanes would make that huge of a difference! Another thing is I don't have to drive and I am saving a ton on gas!

3. Tonight's mission includes dropping off Hailey's soccer registration to Parks and Rec! She is really excited and I am excited for her! It's 6 weeks on Saturday's starting in April. I wasn't able to do dance or gymnastics this year since it was such a huge adjustment with the move, so I am glad she is doing a little something special. Plus a team sport will be a good experience for her!

4. Being sick messed up my weight watchers! I wasn't able to get out of bed for the first two days so I lived on ginger ale during the day and wawa at midnight when the hubs would get home. Do you know between my one meal and drinking real soda, I was going over on my points! But, don't worry I am back on track now!

5. I made pot roast last night and it smelt and tasted so good. I have been sitting her thinking about it all afternoon! I can't wait for dinner so I can have leftovers!

6. I made a goal to get to the gym one day last week and being sick made it not happen! Hopefully, I will be able to meet that goal this week! YMCA here I come!

7. I got a new doctor in our area. Actually I got a whole slew of doctors. It's called the Pratt Practice! And what makes it cool is that it's all the different types of doctors, like an internal medicine, pediatrician, cardiologist, oncologist, gyno/ob, and the list goes on and on! So when I go to one doctor, they can see all my results and notes from my other doctors! No more repeating and filling out paper work! In fact, I had a sonogram done on Friday and at 9am on Monday the doctor called me with the results! I have never had results that fast! They are really awesome!

8. I think I like number 7 so much because in the past couple months I watched every episode of Private Practice on Netflix. It reminds me of that haha!

9. Speaking of Netflix, I used my sickness last week as an excuse to watch the whole season 6 of Army Wives! Now I can't wait for season 7 to come out next year on Netflix!

10. I am going insane waiting for blood test results for something that could ultimately change my life forever. I did the second round blood work on Friday and I am sure the results are not in yet. I couldn't help but call my doctor's office first thing this morning to inquire when they think they will be in. I hate waiting and especially for something like this! Keeping positive!

Sickness!!

So this week I feel like I have fallen flat on my face! The week had started out so good and productive. I even made the goal of hitting the gym one day this week. I actually had thought to myself on Monday "wow I feel pretty good today!". It was a long weekend and I extended it by taking off Friday as well. I had gotten stuff done and Monday I had even went to doctors for my yearly girlie exam (ick!).

Monday night when I got into bed I noticed an itch in my throat. I was hoping a cold wasn't coming. Well when my alarm went off on Tuesday my ears hurt and my throat hurt. I figured it was something from the dry air and cold temperatures maybe, so I hurried to catch my ride to work. Such a bad idea!!! By 10 o clock I was counting the minutes until we left. I was freezing and my body ached. I was exhausted and my head was pounding. My throat was on fire and y ears were burning. I was MISERABLE!!! I couldn't wait until 3:30 to catch the van home. Luckily I have some friends in the area to help with Hailey! By the time I got off the van I wasn't sure I could drive myself home and definitely not go into school to pick her up. They went and got ER and brought her home with some dinner. In the mean time I had gotten home, literally crawled up the steps, went straight to my bed and crawled in piling blankets on me, shoes and all. I was freezing and soaked in sweat. Every bone in my body was hurting and aching. I could barely keep my eyes open. And I didn't leave the bed until yesterday morning when I made myself get up to go to the bathroom.

It's day three today and although I am still sick, sore and exhausted I feel better as long as I keep up with Advil. There was snow last night and Hailey is home for a snow day. I did get out of bed to venture to the window and snap some pictures of her. Hopefully I'll continue to feel better as the day goes on and tomorrow. I can be lazy and enjoy laying around, but not when I feel like this!

Hope everyone else is having a much better and healthier week!

One gift card, a trip to the mall and a $10 off build a bear certificate later,
Hailey was the happiest little girl ever,
which made for one happy Momma!

So What Wednesday!

So What Wednesday

Today I am linking up with Shannon over at Life After I "Dew" for another round of
 So What Wendesday!

This week I am saying so what to.......
  • the fact that I only lost 2 ounces this week. But hey! 2.1 lbs lost in two weeks is better then gaining it!
  •
  • the fact I used a big chunk of my extra Weight Watcher points on a cookie binge this weekend! But come on, how can you resist those warm oeey gooey cookies with a glass of cold milk!
  •
  • the fact it's supposed to snow tomorrow around commute time and Hailey has a birthday party to go to! That's why I love my Jeep, kick that baby into 4WD!
  •
  • I'm broke and have been for two weeks......why is this pay day taking so long to get here?! 2 days left, but who's counting!

  • that my best friend thinks she needs to take a plane to visit me, but hey, I'll pick her up from the airport if she gets the ticket.
PS. It's only an hour and 40 minute drive ;)

  • that I always see yummy pictures on Instagram of my friends going to Sweet Frogs. Who needs that when you are sitting here drinking water?!
PSS: I call those pictures "food porn" and I secretly like it! haha

  • that I am off this Monday and instead of relaxing at home I am going to the women's doctor to go get my yearly exam that is 6 years overdue.
  • that as many link ups as I do, I still only have 6 followers! But hey! I am lucky to have that many!
  •
  • That it's the first time I can finally join this link up by myself. Some blog link ups I have no problem with and other's I have to be manually added! And I hate being a pain!

So as you see, there is nothing big or exciting to say "So What!" to this week!

See you next week!

And here I am again......

And here I am again........

This past week I started weight watchers again! And you know what, I could go on and on beating myself up about starting over again. Or the fact that I gained all my weight I had worked so hard to lose back plus 10 more. But you know what, no looking back in the rear view mirror because what is done is done. It's time to move on and I am doing a good job at moving on.

What I like about Weight Watchers is that it gives you freedom. There is nothing I can't have. So if I go to a party and there is cake, then I can have cake! It's all about making choices. Eating portion sizes. And rewiring your brain when it comes to food. WW is based off of a point system. Every person has a set amount of daily points they can have which is based off their starting weight, age, height and activity level. Each food has points set for them. The points are based off of the fat, carbohydrates, dietary fiber, and protein the food contains. So for example..... milk, 1 cup of skim milk equals 2 points. So if I drink a glass of milk, then I subtract the points off my daily allowance. Fruits and most veggies equal zero. So for breakfast I has 1 c. of spinach (0), 1 banana (0), 1/2 c. frozen strawberries (0), and a 1/2 cup Silk Fruit and Protein drink (2), all blended up with the magic bullet! So that equaled out to be 2 points total. And it got me 3 servings of fruits and veggies and was packed with protein to help me feel fuller longer.

Also on top of your daily points you have a weekly amount of points that are your "extra points". You can use them on a big meal or here and there all throughout the week. You also earn more points for working out that you can use if you run out of points. There is so many ways that you can make this plan doable!

I have started back on WW so many times, but I just can't stick with it. But for some reason this time it just clicked. There has been no doubts or anything I wanted to sneak. I have just been doing it. I have been measuring out my food, making healthier decisions, and watching what I eat. I saved my points Saturday so I could go out to the Japanese Steak House with my friends! And I yesterday I went to Cracker Barrel and for both places I wrote down everything I ate, even my 9 point strawberry daiquiri. I also have cut out most of the regular sodas and tea, well so far I have. I also bumped up my water intake. This is how it felt last time also! When I had lost almost 40lbs. That time it just clicked and was easier then any time before. I am hoping that this feeling is such a good sign!

I have expressed so many times how unhappy I am with myself and my body. I am so uncomfortable in my own skin! But only I can fix that and I hope that is what I am doing. I also know that I want another baby. And with the issues I have, I most likely will be a high risk pregnancy. So the more weight I can lose the better it will be on my body and easier it will be for them to control my blood pressure during a pregnancy.

I know it won't be easy, but I hope that I am taking all the right steps to working on my resolution of bettering myself.

Happy Monday!
