Amazing Teacher!

I have mentioned several times how much I loved Hailey's teacher this year! She was absolutely amazing in so many ways. She was extra patient while Hailey adjusted to a new house, new area, new faces, and a new school. It was all just overwhelming for her and the in the beginning of kindergarten she needed a little extra attention helping with this. Mrs. Durham worked with the students and really made learning fun and made each kid feel special. She was great with the parents and you know how crazy we can be from time to time. I really appreciate everything she did throughout the school year and will really miss her!

The last day of school she outdid herself just a little more! She made each student a huge memory book. There was pictures, classwork, and all sorts of little things throughout the year. It was amazing the stuff that was in this book!

Bare with these photos because of course they are pictures of a the book, but I just had to share some!

It's amazing to see how much her drawing has changed since the August picture!!!

And then of course there was a note to parents as well! And I cried reading it the first time myself and then again to Kenny! Ha!

Then she also sent home a letter to the children telling them she wanted to make sure they really practiced hard over the summer on everything they had learned throughout the year. She included several sheets of papers and some envelopes and her home address. She told them that she was including all this so they could practice by writing her over the summer and she promised she would write them back.

I just thought all of this stuff was great! I was very touched by everything she did! Hailey and I will both miss her next year!

Berry Picking!

Last Saturday we decided to head out for some strawberry picking! Since we are new to the area I got some recommendations from my the local  mommy board so I decided to follow them! We ended up at Braehead Farm, which just opened up this May for the first time! The funny thing is that it's in the middle of an industrial park. We definitely thought we were in the wrong area. It actually the last farm in this area and is family owned. It's small, but I liked that it was a piece of history. Hailey of course is was a strawberry pro as usual!

Kindergarten Celebration!

Yesterday was Hailey's kindergarten celebration! I knew they had been working very hard and could not wait to see what they had in store for us! I will let the pictures tell most of this story!

The celebration started off in the music room with a couple songs that the kids had been working very hard on!

And this is where this song started getting interesting........ so the lyrics said A tooty-ta, a tooty-ta, a tooty ta-ta! A tooty-ta, a tooty-ta, a tooty ta-ta! Then it was thumbs up!

Elbows back, knees together, and bottoms up.....

But wait there is more! Now we add tongues out and eyes closed!

Then they turn around!

This was the Months of the Year song done to the tune of the Macarena song

Then this was the "I'm a Little Tea Pot" song, but in the end there is a twist when the tea pot realizes it doesn't have a spout or a handle which could only mean that it was a sugar bowl! Ha!

So after all the songs, we headed to the library for awards and lunch! Each child got a diploma and a special classroom award!

After awards there was pizza, fruit, and cake! It was a really nice celebration and I was very proud of all the kids in her class! And I held up better then I thought! I only got teary eyed when the teacher spoke a couple times, but for the rest of the celebration I was good to go! I was pretty certain I was going to be "that" mom, you know the one who was crying while taking a bunch of pictures of their baby!

This was a little something special that each of the kids made to give to their parents. It was a thank you card for helping them get through kindergarten.

Okay, I  lied, I did get a little teary eyed when I got the card! But come on, how cute!

Thoughts for the week:

Wahoo! You have no idea how excited I was this morning when I stepped on the scale! I am back to tracking everything full time! I also have been conscious about the food I have been eating and the choices I have been making. I have been adding more water daily and have also been bringing my breakfast and lunch every day! I think all these little things have been helping and hopefully I will keep moving in the right direction!

See you next week!

10 Things on Tuesday!

tues

It is Tuesday again! ::Insert Smiley Face Here!::

1. Tomorrow is the end of the year celebration for my little! I know they have little hats they have been making with little tassels! And she has been working on a song for the past two weeks! I am so excited to see everything!

2. I am having a really hard time with the school year ending. As happy as I am at how far Hailey has come, my heart aches at the fact that she is growing up sooooooo fast!

3. After graduation, Hailey and I are going to a surprise! You guessed it! Build a bear! She has been asking for the past month and now that the new catalog came in she has been carrying that around! She also got a coupon in my email from last years Pre K graduation Build a Bear for a free accessory to celebrate it's birthday! Scoreeeee! I will be printing out coupons tonight!

4. Since Hailey seems to be my topic so far, guess who ended up in my bed last night around midnight?! She woke up and came running in saying there was little spiders all in her bed. I tried to tell her it was okay and it was just a dream, but she asked if she could lay with me. Kenny came in at 1:30 from work to find Hailey snuggled in his spot. His question for me was "Did you forget something?" Like he thought I had forgotten to put Hailey to bed or something.

5. I went to bed around 9:30 and was really tired. I was still awake when Hailey came in and then again when Kenny came home. I could not sleep for the life of me. And when I can't sleep all I do is think.

6. I did sleep on the van this morning, apparently really good. Three times I woke myself up with a really loud snore. I am hoping no one else heard it! Ha!

7. Hailey got her yearbook yesterday. It was pretty cool and I loved watching her look at it and get excited about different things. Then I started to feel bad. When I filled out the form for the year book there was a box you could check that could say "Give the gift of memories to a child". This let you pay for additional year books for children who maybe could not afford one. I wasn't able to do it at the time. But now I am kicking myself because I should have! Just buying lunch and breakfast here at work was the price of a yearbook. I could of easily of brought my food for one day so that I could have given that money. Or when I did get paid, I could of sent in more money. I feel really bad for not doing it.

8. I decided to do an end of the year gift for Hailey's classmates! I am pretty proud of what I came up with! Can't wait to finish them tonight!

9. I deleted five things from this list. I figured I would keep this for the most part on the lighter side and keep the other things to myself.

10. And here is something to really smile about! My house is sold! FINALLY!!!!!!!! It is a huge weight off my shoulders!
