Weighing In Wednesday- Week 5

It's Wednesday again! As soon as 8am rolled around I was at the Nurse's Station waiting to use the scale! So drum roll please!!!!!
This week's weight loss:
-4.9lbs

Total weight loss since Jan. 2, 2013:
-8.6lbs
What worked for me this week:
To be honest I had a medical procedure done at the hospital yesterday so I am sure that's where most my weight loss came from. Monday I had to be on a clear liquid diet and do a complete system flush (if you know what I mean!) so by yesterday I was completely empty of everything! But what worked for me was tracking. I tried to eat salad most days at lunch and measured out my sides when eating dinner.
What didn't work for me:
I never made it to the gym! So that didn't work for me!
A non scale victory for me this past week:
A couple weeks ago I had some lab results come back and it said I was deficient in Vitamin D. I was prescribed a huge dose that I take weekly. To be honest, I can feel a difference! I mean I am still tired, but I have way more energy then I have had in a while. I actually was up by 9:30 both days this past weekend and didn't take any naps! I also do a few more things around the house in the evenings where before it took everything to watch the clock tick to bed time! So feeling more energized is a non scale victory for me!

My goals for this week:
Let's try this gym goal one more time! There is no liquid diets or horrible preps this week. It's just a plain normal week! So there is no excuse this time! My goal is to make it to the gym at least once this week!

Fab Fridays!

The Everyday Joys

Today I am linking up with Laura at http://theeverydayjoys.com/ for Fab Fridays.

I am new to this link up so I thought it would be fun to give it ago and talk about the fab and positive stuff that has gone on today, this week, or even recently!

First off, I forgot that the new Scentsy book came out for consultants to view until I saw that Laura talking about it! Ahhhhh I am so excited for the next stuff and to share! I put warmers in most my rooms, but I think I might have to make a couple of them sample warmers for my book parties kit! I can't wait to smell some of the stuff! I like that Scentsy still makes me excited even after two years of selling it!

I think its fab that I am half way done with my homework that is due on Sunday! This may not sound like something special, but if you know me, you know that I am the biggest procrastinator and normally don't do the work until I am rushing on Sunday nights! This is week 3 of the classes and I have had everything done and turned in each week before 9pm. This is huge, well at least for me!

I think it's fab that I have been doing some stuff around the house. Maybe some minor stuff like sorting through bags of clothes, but hey it's something! I took two big bags to Goodwill and made two trips to Once Upon a Child with some things to sell.

I think it's fab that I have been using my calendar and that I can see how big of difference it makes with stress. If I don't write stuff down, then I constantly think about it. I forget to do it or I lose it. So by writing it down, I have slowly checked off my list!

I think it's fab that in two weekends I have a full weekend of fun stuff! Ahhhhh I get so excited! There's a couple's dinner night, a spa day with a bestie for her Birthday, and then Disney on Ice! I am making it a surprise for Hailey, so it's killing me knowing how she will react! I can't wait! It's my first time seeing that also!

So what fab things do you want to celebrate?!

Friday Letters!

Photobucket

Today I am linking up with Ashley for some Friday's Letters

Dear Weather, How could I not start off with talking to you? I mean it was snowy on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday was almost 70 and then this morning it was like a blizzard out! What are you doing up there?!?

Dear Hailey, Thinking about you makes me smile. You have no idea how proud I am of you and how amazed you make me. You are beginning to read and I love that we read together. You work so hard and I can tell!

Dear House In MD, I have stressed over you for so long. I wish you would sell already so I can move on with my life. You received a cash offer yesterday, but it was for $50,000 less then asking price, let's just hope that the bank takes it, and then you can get flipped and  look oh so pretty! You were my home for over 5 years. We outgrew you, but it didn't mean that we didn't love you. You will make some happy couple starting out so very happy!

Dear Flu, Thank you for leaving, I am much better now!

Dear Hubby, How can someone make me so ANGRY at times! Grrrrr! But today is a new day and I love you!

Dear Weekend, Wahoo! You are finally here! I have been waiting for you since last Sunday night! Let's go by slow!

Dear Self, Just breathe and relax! Let it go! It will be okay!

What do you want to write to this Friday?

Wordless Wednesday: Hailey and her Boyfriend!

DSC_1147

On the right we have Hailey and on the left we have Jr.

If you ask Hailey who Jr is, she will quickly tell you that's her long term boyfriend.
"We have been dating for a while" she says.

The other night Heather sent me this picture of the kids from a Birthday party.

It just so happened Meagan and her husband has joined us for dinner at our house that night. I should Meagan the picture of the two of the kids and this is what happened next.

Hailey: "That's my boyfriend"
Meagan: "I thought you had a new boyfriend at school"
Me: "She does, that's Tyler. She dates them both, but Jr. has always been her boyfriend"
Hailey: "Yeah Tyler is also my boyfriend, but he's kinda just like an appetizer"
The rest of us: ::Speechless::

Yup, that would be the words of my 5 year old! HA!

So apparently in Hailey's eyes..........

Here we have Tyler.....

and here is Jr the main course!

Weighing In Wednesday: Week 4

It's Wednesday again and I am sure you have heard me mention my weight loss journey!
Wednesday is my weigh in day!
So 8am came and I quickly hurried to the Nurse's Station downstairs at work and weighed myself!

This week's weight loss:
1.6lbs

Total weight loss since Jan. 2, 2013:
3.7lbs

What worked for me this week:
To be honest, this was a hard week. I was sick and then had a hard time getting back in the grove of things. But I think just having a positive attitude and making sure I weighed in today really helped!

What didn't work for me:
Being sick! And the fact I didn't complete my goal of going to the gym once during the week!

A non scale victory for me this past week:
I will admit, I binged on some cookies last night! My intentions was to eat the whole package, but instead of making myself sick eating them, I ate a few and then put the rest away! Mmmmm warm oeey goeey cookies! Hubby ate them when he came home so now they are all gone! No temptation tonight!

My goals for this week:
To focus more on healthy eating, finally hit the gym at least once this week, and to keep tracking every bite! Remember slow and steady wins the race!

10 Things On Tuesday!

I saw this last week on Joni's and Heather's blogs and thought it was a cute idea! Of course when I read about it, it was already Wednesday! Boo! So I was excited to do it this Tuesday! Wahoo!

1. Last week the flu decided to pay me a visit and believe me it was a long unwanted visit! Now I am much better, but dealing with the aftermath that turned into a double ear infection and a upper respiratory infection. Hopefully it will be on it's way out soon! I already feel better then I did when I woke up this morning!

2. Being able to get on a vanpool has made a huge improvement in my work week! Not only am I consistent on what time I get to work, but I also get home a lot earlier! I didn't realize HOV lanes would make that huge of a difference! Another thing is I don't have to drive and I am saving a ton on gas!

3. Tonight's mission includes dropping off Hailey's soccer registration to Parks and Rec! She is really excited and I am excited for her! It's 6 weeks on Saturday's starting in April. I wasn't able to do dance or gymnastics this year since it was such a huge adjustment with the move, so I am glad she is doing a little something special. Plus a team sport will be a good experience for her!

4. Being sick messed up my weight watchers! I wasn't able to get out of bed for the first two days so I lived on ginger ale during the day and wawa at midnight when the hubs would get home. Do you know between my one meal and drinking real soda, I was going over on my points! But, don't worry I am back on track now!

5. I made pot roast last night and it smelt and tasted so good. I have been sitting her thinking about it all afternoon! I can't wait for dinner so I can have leftovers!

6. I made a goal to get to the gym one day last week and being sick made it not happen! Hopefully, I will be able to meet that goal this week! YMCA here I come!

7. I got a new doctor in our area. Actually I got a whole slew of doctors. It's called the Pratt Practice! And what makes it cool is that it's all the different types of doctors, like an internal medicine, pediatrician, cardiologist, oncologist, gyno/ob, and the list goes on and on! So when I go to one doctor, they can see all my results and notes from my other doctors! No more repeating and filling out paper work! In fact, I had a sonogram done on Friday and at 9am on Monday the doctor called me with the results! I have never had results that fast! They are really awesome!

8. I think I like number 7 so much because in the past couple months I watched every episode of Private Practice on Netflix. It reminds me of that haha!

9. Speaking of Netflix, I used my sickness last week as an excuse to watch the whole season 6 of Army Wives! Now I can't wait for season 7 to come out next year on Netflix!

10. I am going insane waiting for blood test results for something that could ultimately change my life forever. I did the second round blood work on Friday and I am sure the results are not in yet. I couldn't help but call my doctor's office first thing this morning to inquire when they think they will be in. I hate waiting and especially for something like this! Keeping positive!

Sickness!!

So this week I feel like I have fallen flat on my face! The week had started out so good and productive. I even made the goal of hitting the gym one day this week. I actually had thought to myself on Monday "wow I feel pretty good today!". It was a long weekend and I extended it by taking off Friday as well. I had gotten stuff done and Monday I had even went to doctors for my yearly girlie exam (ick!).

Monday night when I got into bed I noticed an itch in my throat. I was hoping a cold wasn't coming. Well when my alarm went off on Tuesday my ears hurt and my throat hurt. I figured it was something from the dry air and cold temperatures maybe, so I hurried to catch my ride to work. Such a bad idea!!! By 10 o clock I was counting the minutes until we left. I was freezing and my body ached. I was exhausted and my head was pounding. My throat was on fire and y ears were burning. I was MISERABLE!!! I couldn't wait until 3:30 to catch the van home. Luckily I have some friends in the area to help with Hailey! By the time I got off the van I wasn't sure I could drive myself home and definitely not go into school to pick her up. They went and got ER and brought her home with some dinner. In the mean time I had gotten home, literally crawled up the steps, went straight to my bed and crawled in piling blankets on me, shoes and all. I was freezing and soaked in sweat. Every bone in my body was hurting and aching. I could barely keep my eyes open. And I didn't leave the bed until yesterday morning when I made myself get up to go to the bathroom.

It's day three today and although I am still sick, sore and exhausted I feel better as long as I keep up with Advil. There was snow last night and Hailey is home for a snow day. I did get out of bed to venture to the window and snap some pictures of her. Hopefully I'll continue to feel better as the day goes on and tomorrow. I can be lazy and enjoy laying around, but not when I feel like this!

Hope everyone else is having a much better and healthier week!
